Theo Greenblatt has had an amazing journey from “female fan” in Boston to Dr. Greenblatt in Newport RI!
Theo finished a fashion merchandising degree in Boston in 1978, where she started showing up at shows at the Rat, Cantone’s, The Underground, The Space, The Channel, and later Streets and Spit. Theo worked with the Subway News crew, and saw hundreds of shows at that time before shifting gears, and hopping a flight to Israel, where she worked for four years, married, and had her first child.
Theo returned state side in 1987 and began working in Newport RI…raised two more kids and finished a BA and MA in English and began working as an instructor at the University of Rhode Island and Salve Regina. In 2002 Theo began teaching at the Naval Academy Preparatory School and also completed her doctorate in 2010.Theo continues to work at NAPS, has assisted her kids through college, and now shares her home with two aging felines and more books than any one person has a right to.
