ASK MARK A QUESTION:

Do you think it’s fair to say that the posters you would find on the wall and street poles around the city of Boston in the 80’s had as much to do with the music scene as the music itself?

Some of the work in the Boston Flashpoint Gallery comes from musicians who spent time in art school. Is that where you developed your artistic skills?

When you worked on a poster, what was the creative process and how long would a typical poster take to make?

If the medium is the message, what is the message being sent by the poster image with the woman in the acrylic chamber and the cycling of the moons?

The iconic red La Peste cross and type set seen in many of your posters. Where did those come from?

Many show poster designers were musicians. Do you think that’s a prerequisite or just a function of them being artistic and creative people?

There are two poster’s from the Bird Cage in the gallery. That was a strip club in Boston’s Combat Zone. Did playing that club influence the reoccurring visual thread of women in provocative poses?

The poster from The Space with the spray can was done by Siri Howard. Did you work with her on this design?

Do you consider all those posters plastered throughout the city as being part of the cultural landscape of Boston back in the 80’s?

What question did you always want Mark Andreasson to be asked about his art, being it posters or music, but it never came about?
