Mission of Burma forms

Mission of Burma came onto the Boston music scene as the sound of punk dominated the clubs and the air waves. They quickly embraced the Underground in Allston as their home base of operation and performed several unique and inspiring shows. Burma was not afraid of being different and that set them apart from the rest of the bands. Their music was a loud swirling assault on the ears driven by the dueling guitar and bass lines from Roger Miller and Clint Conley, with a strong supporting beat of Peter Prescott’s relentless drums. Martin Swope, the sound engineer and tape manipulator, worked behind the scenes to weave a strong new sound that Boston had not heard anywhere before.
